Accusations, Self-Realization. Don’t Assume, Ask. Tarot Affirmations with The Hermit

Tarot Affirmations are positive statements for shifting energy, centering ourselves, energizing our mojo. They help to improve our perspective, while encouraging confidence and productivity. The method is simple and can involve creative visualization (which I include the tarot) but you must be determined to put the effort in, to invigorate higher vibrations. Use meditative affirmations WHENEVER you need focus. A quiet spot where you are able to stay focused is suggested, in order to put your intent out into the Universe. Clear your mind, so that nothing interferes, be neutral in your thoughts and emotions. You may declare your personal statement. My suggestions are only examples to help guide you, but feel free to create your own methods of expression. I personally prefer to vocalize my affirmations out loud – but also very clearly – in order to ‘seal the verbal contract’ with the Universe. It is helpful to have your affirmation written down on a small post-it note and placed where you will see it several times a day, as a reminder to take a short moment and focus on your intent. Visualize and believe in what you are announcing. The more you work with your affirmation, the more you grow accustomed to your own style of what works best for you. Everyone is different, and there is no right or wrong. For beginners, it may take one to three weeks of repeating the oath to sense a shift. For the experienced it may take twenty-four hours or less! With the right approach, you will encounter the magic of will and assertion.

The Hermit: Escape from the normal duties at this time. Sit for a few minutes alone, with eyes closed and a goal to relax. Calm all thoughts and emotions until you are aware of the quietness that surrounds you. You’re goal is to become silent and still, by distancing yourself from your day. With slow and deep breaths, feel yourself float into this calm energy, feeling your body and mind also adjusting to the quietness. All noise disappears and you feel at peace. Pay attention to the soundless spirit, as you exist perfectly with the silence. Become one with the Hermit.

Visualization: Today’s card image can assist you in this practice, to help you make a powerful shift in your life with observation. So whether you are ready to make some changes in a relationship, create your work or career, and within yourself, regular practice is beneficial.

– Before beginning, have a sunny yellow candle ready, with matches or a lighter

– Think of one question that you desperately need the answer to. To stabilize the question, write it down, and be sure that it is totally clear and can not be misunderstood. If you have more than one, that’s okay, you can continue with your other questions as you later understand your practice. For now, work with just one question. The question should not be one that requires just a ‘yes or no’ answer, but allows for more information to come intuitively and naturally.

– Light the candle. As you become the Hermit, this will be your lantern to refer to, just as seen in the image. Use your imagination and become like him, quiet and reserved on the outside, but strong and sensitive on the inside. Become visually connected to the flame. Only you and your lantern/candle exist, nothing else. Furniture, people, the clock, your coffee…. whatever is around,  doesn’t exist. Allow it all to fade, as you internalize the candle light. Your main focus is to empty your mind. As you watch the flame, and breathe slowly, and steady. Ask your question – which can be out loud, or in silence ~ then watch the flame. Listen to the silence. Be aware that answers will arrive as they can. Ask the question again if needed. Listen quietly, for a full minute or two as vibrations slowly drift inward.

If it doesn’t work right away, that’s fine. Practice makes perfect, just as emptying the mind does. To continue, keep staring at the flame. The lantern/light is your trusted friend, which is why you carry it wherever you go. Understand the bond that exists. Now quietly imagine that your lantern quietly asks you a question. Listen to it. Notice that the lantern asks you the exact same question, that you asked. Answer the question. If your inquiry concerns an individual, imagine that certain person speaking to you through the flame.

Affirmations: While being one with yourself, announce your trusted affirmation:

  • Silence is my friend.
  • The answers I seek are within me.
  • To receive answers, I inquire within.
  • If I do not know, I ask and research.
