Setting the mood is a personal choice for both the reader as well as the person being read. Some readers choose to light candles and burn incense, and meditate before they perform a reading. Some time ago, I had done this to clear my head, .Although the tools help to set the mood, I am very comfortable at this stage in my study with just pulling out my tarot deck and reading them without any additional props - but this does come from years of daily practice, years of experience, and trusting my knowledge and my intuition.

What YOU, as the person being read can do BEFORE a reading, is to write your questions down on a piece of paper. These notes will assist you, as they can sometimes be forgotten during the process. Another tip is to keep your notepad handy and take notes during the reading - to review the information that has presented itself to you. Most importantly, it is best to be clear headed when you are ready to be read. We are all made of energy, light, and vibrations... and because of this, your moods and attitude CAN affect the energy from the cards or myself.

My best example is when a gentleman had called and had several questions on starting a new business. The energy and the cards kept appearing dark, negative, and deteriorating, and I assumed that his business needed special attention.
