| Evil Psychics, Evil Readings.... or just
Evil Myths? ©2007 Starcana.com I felt a need to write about those who are curious about getting psychic readings, or worried about psychics and being cursed, as some people are very nervous that they will hear bad things, that they will be cursed for getting a reading, or fear that readings are evil and the work of satan. Although I grew up with mystical situations and psychic skills, I too had been skeptical with all those old Catholic myths and bible rumors. Being bought up in the Catholic religion, we were not encouraged to get involved in such terrible things. But as a risky Sagittarius, I don't take limitations and rules very well. So of course, me and my friends would read the latest books and magazines involved with all this dangerous material, we would head to the local psychic readers and fortune tellers at the local fairs, plus I would also tap into my own personal psychic experiences as a sensitive person. My questions were like yours... Are psychic readings evil? Is Tarot the work of the devil? Will I be cursed by getting a reading? Am I encouraging negative forces and unholy energies by getting a reading? SPECIAL NOTE The pentacle is something else that frightens people, and immediately relate it to evil - but many forget the true symbolism of the star (along with the circle) is related to security, protection, faith, hope, and inspiration... which I show images on the right. One needs to ask themselves where the fear exists (whether it be a reading, the pentacle, etc) and face the fear, and bring it all into the light, as with knowledge - we have a better understanding of what is actually threatening our peace, and know that we must challenge any negative thoughts that may affect our well-being. While I started off an a very early age with unusual and unseen energies, I assumed that evil things were happening or trying to hurt me. Of course I was very young, about five or six years old, and very influenced by the big hype of horror flicks in the sixties... like Dark Shadows, the Twilight Zone, Night Gallery, Chilly Billy, etc. Experimenting, reading, and conversing with others... I learned that what I was experiencing was not evil forces, but that I simply feared - what I could not see or understand. The fact of the situation was, can the simple study of astrology and our planets be evil? No. What about Tarot cards? Can a deck of plastic playing cards be evil? No. Can a psychic reading harm you? Great reading. ~JF What CAN hurt you are the individuals who are using these tools. They allow you to THINK that you have no personal will over your life, and allow you to think that you are cursed, and that you need to act quickly to remove the evil connection - with an additional cost. If you believe this is all possible, then yes, readings can definitely cause harm. But reminding you of the fact - that playing cards, astrology charts on paper, and etc are not harmful to you - but the person behind the tools. At the same time, they are also not magical in the sense that they perform miracles. Love will not return - just because you someone read your cards. health is not cured by a psychic reading your energy, and money does not miraculously fall into your life with a reading. Your good luck and prosperity come from your own thoughts and actions, just as bad luck and poverty. Only your own will and effort can bring you happiness or sadness... not a reading. To me, evil is a person who judges others harshly... a person who cheats and steals, a person who intentionally does something to hurt another person - for their own selfish pleasure or insecurity. A tarot card is not possible of hurting me - but the person who uses it to control your thoughts for their own purpose, is. Just like my mom use to say when I was scared after watching a spooky flick.... "Monsters and dead people can't hurt you.... it's the Living that you need to be weary of." Money and power are a challenge for many, and accentuate one's insecurities and weaknesses. Money and power is what I personally blame for the upsets in the world for. It tears businesses, countries, friends, and family apart. I've made many individual decisions and have chosen to walk away from many personal and financial situations in my life. On one side of the coin, I experienced incredible losses against others and their greed for selfish power - On the other side of the coin, I gained great freedom, broke controlled restrictions, and in return, have been rewarded generously. Money pays the bills, but it is not a priority that I choose over my friends and family. |

Readings are simply psychological games based both on intuitive interpretations and practical reasoning. They are celestial suggestions, NOT your future. Just because the tarot cards or stars offer an assumption or some advice.... this does not make them evil. Just because your mom or friend offers an assumption or some advice... does not make them evil either. Only you can choose to what lies ahead next in your life, based on the collection of information that you gained... whether that be from a a family member, a reading, a friend, etc. In all reality - a suggestion, an assumption, or advice is not evil. The tarot cards, a psychic interpretation, an astrology reading are not evil. Again it is the person behind the advice or reading... the intention of the friend, the family member... or the psychic reader. Is this persons advice looking out for your best interest? In regards to a psychic reading, you can get some bad advice from the reader or the interpreter, not the cards. It is the person's divination and how they translate that message to you. A wonderful example is the readers who tell you that you are going to die because the death card was chosen, when in reality the death card signifies transformation in one's life. In all reality - neither the cards, nor the reader knows when death will arrive. Only the Gods know when it is your time. When a psychic reading is making you feel uncomfortable - trust your intuition, and close the reading. You will not be cursed for ending it. You simply do not feel comfortable with the advice or assumptions, that is all. An ethical reader should respect your view and decision. Unethical readers will try to control your decisions with their personal power over the situation, and try to make you feel out of control. They will offer additional help and advice for an additional fee - and that should be your cue - to say "thanks - but no thanks". Only YOU are in control of your situation and future... no fancy spells, no special herbs, no potions, or amount of your hard earned money will make your dreams come true - or make your fears to disappear. Only YOU can make that happen. Readings are not about telling your future, performing miracles, nor taking control away from you. The REAL magic happens when you recognize that fact, and realize that the magic existed within you the WHOLE time. The moral of this story is we all have options and the will to overcome and succeed. No matter what a psychic reading, a tarot card, a lucky star, or a person presents you with - you always have control. |
